Steady Negative Split Powers Strong Finish Luc Carner clocked 1:39:52 for the half marathon, finishing 350th overall and 282nd among men out of the field of 7,223. His mile splits dropped nearly every mile, from 8:53 at mile 1 down to 6:34 at mile 12, showing a runner who found his rhythm and pushed harder as the race went on. That final stretch from mile 9 to mile 12 stood out, with paces of 7:17, 7:04, 7:16, and 6:34 his fastest mile of the day coming late rather than early. Racing at over 5,000 feet in Boulder, Carner's ability to keep accelerating through the second half is a strong sign of pacing discipline worth building on for future races.
