Strong Front Half Gives Way to a Tougher Back Stretch Shane Hendrickson completed the 2026 Boulderthon Marathon in 3:57:19, his slowest finish among three trips to this race, trailing 2025's 3:43:27 and 2024's 3:46:32. Hendrickson ran his opening 13 miles in 1:42:59, holding between 7:32 and 8:25 pace, with mile 11 his fastest of the day at 7:32. Cumulative pace stayed under 8:15 through mile 20 before a marked shift arrived over miles 21-22, where splits climbed to 11:44 and 13:05, the slowest miles-long stretch of his race. He steadied over the closing miles, dropping back toward 10-11 minute pace before finishing. That late stretch fell near the marathon's lululemon Power-Up Zone at mile 22.5, a section of the newly reconfigured 2026 course that trimmed net elevation gain from 982 to 603 feet.
