Steady Surge Through the Middle Miles Todd Mortensen crossed the 2026 Boulderthon 10K in 51:18, finishing 201st overall and 136th among men out of the field of 3,071. His race built strongly through the middle of the course, dropping from an 8:32 opening mile to a 7:50 fourth mile before a 9:28 closing mile brought him home. That fourth mile was his standout stretch, the fastest full mile of his race and a marked gain in cumulative pace after a measured start. Given that Boulder sits above 5,000 feet, holding sub-8:00 pace through miles three, four and five reflects well on his pacing discipline. With the 10K field starting at 8:10 AM, Todd's negative-split shape through the race's core miles is a strength worth building on for his next start.
