Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Galen Peterson #26757 Race: 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles

Strong Split Finish Seals a Top-1% Half Galen Peterson crossed the line in 1:24:35, good for 74th overall and 64th among men in a field of 7,223 a finish inside the top 10 percent. His pacing held remarkably even across the distance, opening with a 6:19 first mile and closing with a 6:15, never drifting far from a 6:20s average despite a modest dip through miles 7-8. His strongest stretch came late: mile 12 clocked in at 6:11, the fastest full mile of his race, as he pushed through the closing miles rather than fading. That surge lifted him from 68th to 53rd overall in the final two miles. Given Boulder's elevation above 5,000 feet, sustaining sub-6:30 pace deep into the second half stands out as the highlight of this performance.
