Steady Pace Through the Miles, Strong Finishing Kick Connor Byers completed the 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon in 1:52:22, holding a consistent rhythm across the first six miles between 8:06 and 8:25 per mile. A brief dip through miles 7-8 (8:55 and 9:18) interrupted the early tempo, but Byers responded well, closing out the final mile in 8:32 his fastest full mile of the back half of the race. The half marathon course finishes on the historic Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, a city sitting at over 5,000 feet of elevation. Byers' ability to rally after the mid-race dip, tightening his pace over the closing miles, speaks to solid pacing instincts a small negative-split push worth building on for future races.
