Steady Pacing Fuels a Personal-Best 10K Christian Oaxaca ran 53:42 in the 10K, his fastest finish across three appearances at this race, improving from 56:02 in 2025 and 1:14:16 in 2024. His overall and gender placements also climbed each year, reflecting a much stronger showing this time out. The race unfolded with a strong opening third: miles one through three clicked off in 8:15, 8:26, and 8:19, establishing an efficient rhythm early. A brief dip to 8:52 in mile four was quickly corrected with an 8:20 fifth mile, showing good recovery. The final mile eased to 9:51 as he closed out the distance. Given Boulder's elevation above 5,000 feet, the sustained pace through the middle miles stands out as the strongest segment of the race.
