Strong Start Carries Coon Into Top 4% Finish Kyle Coon crossed the line in 47:39, placing 110th overall out of the field of 3,071 and 79th among men. That finish capped a race built on an especially efficient opening mile, where Coon covered the first two miles at a 7:06 pace before easing through the middle miles into a final push to the line. The early efficiency stood out most: Coon's first two miles, at matching 7:06 and 7:07 splits, were the fastest sustained mile-plus stretch of his day, a pace he couldn't quite recapture as the race wore on. Every finisher crosses the line on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, a fitting close to a race run at over 5,000 feet of elevation.
