Strong Start Fuels a Faster Finish Than Last Year Gabriel Vazquez crossed the line in 1:51:23, cutting more than seven minutes off his 2025 Boulderthon half marathon time of 1:58:56. That improvement reflects a more controlled pacing effort across the 13.1 miles, even as the back half naturally slowed from the quick start. The opening mile was his fastest of the day at 7:26, and he held pace in the mid-7:00s through mile two before settling into a steadier rhythm. Miles 3 through 6 showed a gradual climb from 8:14 to 8:36, and the race found its shape in the second half, holding mostly in the 8:30-9:20 range through mile 11 before a strong close, with miles 12 and 13 ticking back down into the 8:30s. Given Boulders elevation above 5,000 feet, that finishing kick stands out as a well-managed final stretch.
