Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Joey Falzone #40032 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Strong Middle Mile Powers a Steady 5K Finish Joey Falzone completed the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 30:09, covering the course at a 9:43/mile pace. His race showed a strong surge in the middle: after opening in 9:43 for mile one, he dropped to 8:17 for mile twohis fastest mile of the daybefore easing to 11:09 over the closing stretch into the Pearl Street Mall. Falzone's effort came at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, a notable backdrop for his fastest-mile push through the second segment of the course. The mid-race surge suggests solid conditioning; dialing in a more even effort across the final mile could help him sustain that pace to the line in future races.
