Stellar Pace in Half Marathon Debut Fiona Kean, at just 16 years old from Salt Lake City, Utah, delivered an outstanding performance at the 2026 Deseret News Marathon. Her total time for the half marathon was 1:13:14, clocking an impressive average pace of 5:35 per mile. She maintained her position firmly, finishing 13th overall out of 1374 participants and 5th among female competitors. Notably, she secured the 1st place in her division (F15-18). Fiona started the race conservatively with a 7:32 first mile. She quickly accelerated, with her fastest split being an impressive 4:46 from miles 3 to 6. Averaging a pace under 6 minutes per mile for most of the race demonstrates significant stamina and speed. As the race progressed, her pace slightly adjusted, yet she maintained remarkable consistency, ending with multiple 5:37 miles.
