Consistently Strong Performance with a Notable Finish Joseph Barnes maintained an impressive and consistent pace throughout the 2026 Deseret News Marathon. Starting with a steady 6:59 min/mile for the first three miles, Joseph strategically increased his pace, reaching a peak speed of 5:36 min/mile at mile 11. Notably, he achieved a split pace of under 6:40 min/mile between miles 10 and 16, remaining competitive throughout the race. Joseph completed the marathon with a total time of 3:14:38, racing at an average pace of 7:25 min/mile. He finished strong in his division, securing the 2nd place among his M25-29 age group.
