Consistent Pace and Strong Finish Jocelyn Todd delivered an impressive performance in the 2026 Deseret News Marathon Half Marathon. Starting with an aggressive pace of 5:18 min/mile for the first mile, she quickly established her place among the top competitors. Through the first three miles, she maintained a strong position, consistently placing 3rd in her gender and division. Jocelyn's pacing strategy remained consistent with a steady mid-race pace of 5:40 to 5:49 min/mile, while maintaining positions within the top five in her gender and top three in her division F30-34. Her performance highlighted exceptional endurance, as she clocked a finish time of 1:17:33 with an overall pace of 5:55 min/mile, securing 10th place in her gender and 3rd in her age division, F30-34. The ability to close the race strong, despite some slowing in the later miles, shows great promise. Focusing on maintaining the initial strong pace in the later stages could yield even further progress.
