Smooth Mid-Race Push and Strong Finish Keltsey Stout maintained a consistently strong pace at the 2026 Deseret News Marathon 10K, achieving an overall time of 52:59 with an average pace of 8:32 min/mile. He started the race with an 8:27 min/mile pace for the first mile and showed notable improvement in the second mile with his fastest split at 8:10 min/mile. This mid-race acceleration was a key performance highlight, allowing him to improve his position from 438th to 402nd place overall. Throughout the race, Keltsey navigated fluctuations in splits with an 8:43 min/mile during the third mile, followed by consistent pacing with an 8:34 and 8:50 min/mile pace for the fourth and fifth miles. A particularly strong effort was evident in the last mile, finishing in 8:36 min/mile, securing 71st place in the M15-18 division. For future races, maintaining the strengthened mid-race pace into later miles could further enhance overall performance.
