Strong Start and Consistent Performance Elizabeth Chikotas demonstrated an impressive start in the 2026 Deseret News Marathon Half Marathon. She initially held the first place position within her gender, setting a swift pace of 4:51 min/mile. As the race progressed, she maintained a consistent pace, averaging 5:25 min/mile and effectively staying within the top tier of female competitors. Although she finished third in her gender division, Elizabeth's pace remained steady throughout the latter parts of the race, minimizing any drop in performance significantly. Her ability to maintain a strong pace in the final miles allowed her to secure a top-three finish in her division. Focusing on maintaining the initial burst of speed or recovering it midway could enhance future performances. Overall, her strategy and execution resulted in a commendable finish amongst over 1300 participants.
