Consistent Mid-Race Gains Propel Strong Finish Tyler Martin showcased impressive tactical pacing at the 2026 Deseret News Marathon 10K. His initial mile split was 4:48, quickly moving through the field to improve position from 39th to 11th overall by the fourth-mile mark. Notably, his second mile was the fastest at 4:43, demonstrating significant pace control and strategic speed gain. Despite a slight slowdown to 5:20 for the third and fifth miles, Martin managed to finish the race with an overall time of 31:40, averaging 5:06 per mile over the 6.2-mile distance. His result placed him 20th overall among 1,197 participants, 19th among the male competitors, and placed him 8th in the highly competitive M19-24 division.
