Consistent Start, Challenging Finish The team demonstrated an impressive start, maintaining a consistent pace of 9:51 min/mile for the first three miles. By mile six, they achieved their fastest split of 9:27 min/mile, holding favorable positions in their division: consistently placing third. Notably, they improved from ninth overall to fourth following the third mile. However, after hitting the half marathon mark, their pace began to slow, peaking at a 15:48 min/mile split by mile 21. Challenges emerged in the latter sections, with the slowest segment between miles 25 and 26 seeing a split time over 17 minutes. Despite this, they admirably maintained third place in their division, though ending 20th overall and in gender, due to the tough final stages. Working on pacing near the race end could help maintain momentum throughout future events.
