Consistent Pacing with a Strong Finish The Sole Mates demonstrated consistent pacing throughout their marathon relay, maintaining an average pace of 8:31 minutes per mile. The team started their race with consistent splits of 9:10 per mile for the first three miles. They ramped up their effort around mile four, where their pace significantly dropped to 4:30 per mile. This aggressive speed resulted in a temporary improvement in their overall and gender group standings, advancing from 8th to 6th and ultimately peaking at 3rd in their division. Notably, the team showed some variability in the latter stages, particularly from mile 18 to mile 21, with splits extending to approximately 10:14 and 10:43 per mile. However, The Sole Mates regained their momentum in the later mile, securing a 5th place in the final stages with a commendable split at mile 23 of 8:30.
