Consistent Excellence and a Strong Finish Legs Miserables displayed remarkable consistency throughout the 2026 Deseret News Marathon. Maintaining an average split time around 7:14 min/mile from miles 4 through 8 was key to their performance. They began with an impressive display, holding second place through the first three miles, each completed at a steady pace of 7:43 min/mile. The team then made a strategic shift around the fourth mile, accelerating to a 7:15 min/mile pace, and subsequently taking and maintaining first place. A noticeable improvement in speed came in the final stages, highlighted by a swift 6:26 min/mile pace at mile 10, showcasing their ability to push hard towards the end. Mile 22 was another standout, completed in a quick 6:33. While they held first overall in 21 of the 26 splits, moving into second on four occasions indicates an area to watch for competition.
