Consistent Pace with Strong Finish Abigail Johnson showcased her consistency in the 2026 Deseret News Marathon 10K event. Starting with a solid 6:54-minute mile, she initially placed 57th in her gender category and 18th in the F15-18 division. As the race progressed, her splits fluctuated slightly, but she maintained a strong pace. Her slowest split was an 8:27-minute mile during the third mile, impacting her division standing temporarily. Despite the challenging middle segments, Abigail's resilience shone through in the final parts of the race. She managed a negative split with a noteworthy leap in overall standing during the last stretch, improving from 294th at the fifth mile to 194th by the finish line. Her average pace for the race was 7:54 min/mile, and she completed the 10K in 48:59. Continued focus on maintaining early race momentum could benefit result improvements in future races.
