Consistent Pacing Shines Quinn Potter displayed remarkable consistency in the 2026 Deseret News Marathon 10K, maintaining a solid pace throughout the race. His initial mile split was 4:43, positioning him well in the early stages, but experienced slight deceleration with his second mile at a 4:49 pace, and a third mile at 5:15. Notably, he managed to regain his position by the third mile and maintained this steady pace until the finish line. Potter completed the 10K race with an impressive overall time of 31:40, averaging a 5:06 pace per mile. Despite a bit of a slowdown during the fifth and sixth miles, he demonstrated great resilience by finishing strong. He placed 21st overall out of 1197 participants and 9th in the M19-24 age division. One area to watch is pacing fluctuation in the latter half of the race to improve placement in future races.
