Strong Start, Consistent Finish in 10K Race Coy Harkness maintained exceptional pace and consistency during the 2026 Deseret News Marathon 10K. Starting strong, Coy completed the first mile in 4:58, positioning him 63rd overall. Notably, Coy's opening split was the fastest at a 4:58 min/mile pace, showcasing his ability to start with intense momentum. Throughout the race, despite a slight decrease in pace, he consistently maintained a sub-6:00 min/mile pace. His splits reveal a significant leap in performance during the third mile, achieving a 5th place division position for that segment, bolstering his standing. Coy clocked an overall time of 35:13, with an average pace of 5:40 min/mile, finishing 64th among male participants and 26th in the M15-18 division. Coy exhibited consistent endurance and strong pacing throughout the race.
