Strong Finish with Consistent Speed Ty Patterson demonstrated impressive consistency in his pacing during the 2026 Deseret News Marathon 10K event. With an overall elapsed time of 31:26, he maintained an impressive average pace of 5:04 min/mile over the 6.2-mile course. Notably, despite a slight drop in pace between miles 3 and 5, he managed to recover and finish strong, clocking 5:17 min/mile in the final mile which helped him move up to 10th place overall for the male category at that segment. Ty finished 15th out of 1197 total participants, securing 3rd in his division (M15-18). His performance is highlighted by splitting his first two miles at an impressive 4:42 and 4:43 min/mile, reflecting an early advantage.
