Consistent Pace with a Strong Start Chad Berens executed a well-organized race strategy at the 2026 Deseret News Marathon 10K. He started strong, running the first mile at a remarkable pace of 4:32 per mile. By the second mile, his pace slightly decreased to 4:53 per mile, but he maintained a competitive position in the top 15 overall and concluded the third mile with a split time of 5:11. His consistent performance placed him 9th in his division, M30-34, during this part of the race. The latter half of the race saw Chad's pace increase slightly; he averaged a consistent split pace between 5:16 and 5:42 per mile. Even with this increase, Chad finished the 10K in 32:00 minutes, achieving a notable 3rd place in the M30-34 division.
