Steady Start, Strategic Finish Isaac Fredin demonstrated remarkable pacing strategy at the 2026 Deseret News Marathon 10K. Fredin initiated the race with a strong first mile at 5:02 min/mile and maintained a sub-5:05 pace for the second mile. Notably, his consistency kept him well-positioned early on, with overall placements of 44th and 55th in the first two-mile splits, respectively. A slight slowdown in pace was observed from mile three, peaking at a 5:52 min/mile for the third mile, where he hit his highest position of the day at 18th within the M15-18 division. As the race progressed, Fredin displayed resilience by regaining positions in the latter part of the course.
