Flamingo Feathers Fly High at Run Madtown! Golly, what a display of winged wonder from Garrett Eklof at the 2026 Run Madtown Half Marathon! Covering the iconic 13.1 miles with an average pace of 5:28 minutes per mile, Garrett soared to first place overall from start to finish. The first mile set a dazzling tone with a brisk 5:29 pace, and Garrett never looked back, maintaining the lead through the bustling energy of Madison. Despite the vibrant distractions, Garrett maintained impressive consistency, with eleven of the thirteen splits clocking between 5:24 and 5:28. The most challenging mile arrived at the 12th mile with a slight slowdown to a 5:38 pace, which was expertly managed as he rebounded with a 5:30 finish. Garrett can reflect on this impeccable performance and consider the value of maintaining that strong pace in similar segments. With 1,187 total participants looking on, this performance truly kicked off summer in a majestic fashion!
