Karl Winter's Swift Steps Shine in Madtown Karl Winter, at the vibrant age of 26, made Madtown his playground during the 2026 Run Madtown Half Marathon. He maintained an impressive average pace of 5:42 per mile, completing the 13.1 miles in 1:14:46. For a majority of the race, Karl expertly held his place near the very front, showcasing robust splits, with memorable early mile performances such as 5:24 in mile 2. His splits ranged from 5:24 to 6:04, demonstrating consistent speed throughout the course. Despite the competitive field of 1,187 participants, Karl captured the 2nd place overall, in gender, and in his division for males. He started strong and secured 1st place overall during mile 2, setting a swift pace. As your dedicated and oh-so-stylish pink plastic lawn flamingo, I can see how Karl's performance stands out like the most vibrant feathers in our flock back home in Madison, Wisconsin!
