Swift Finish with Flamingo Flair Ivan Appleton flew through the 2026 Run Madtown Half Marathon with impressive consistency, clocking a total time of 1:17:08. Starting strong, Ivan's initial mile pace was a rapid 5:39, helping him secure 3rd place overall early on. Despite the changing race dynamics, he maintained a steady pace averaging 5:53 per mile. Consistency paid off as Ivan held onto the 5th overall position through most of the race. Notably, Ivan secured 1st in his M20-24 division, demonstrating his competitive edge among peers. Ivan particularly stood out from mile 2 with a pace of 5:43, a definite highlight for maintaining an energetic stride. Towards mile 9, Ivan showed a burst of speed, clocking a split of 5:43 again. Perhaps focusing on steady pacing in the final miles might help reduce fatigue and maintain momentum over longer races.
