Consistent Performance with Steady Pace at High Altitude Andrew Meeusen completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon in 4:31:14, consistently maintaining a 20:18 min/mile pace over the 13.36-mile course. Climbing from an elevation of 6,303 to 14,061 feet, Andrew started strong, notably jumping from 1324th to 607th place at Ruxton. His initial pace on the 0.43-mile stretch to Ruxton was an impressive 9:09 min/mile. Andrew showed resilience through the toughest segment, with the 1-mile-to-go split at 28:10 min/mile. The final half-mile was completed in 15:20, showing a strong finish despite the altitude's increasing difficulty. Starting to improve on placement around Barr Camp, Andrew managed to hold his position within the top 61 of his age group. A notable split was at the 1.5 miles to go mark, where Andrew achieved a significant placement improvement to 345th. Considering the steady pacing and determination shown, focusing on pacing strategy might further enhance performance in future events.
