Consistent Effort Amidst Tough Elevation Gain Matt Kizaric, a 28-year-old from Seattle, completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon with a finish time of 5:15:55 over a challenging 13.36-mile course. Maintaining an elapsed pace of 23:38 min/mile, Matt demonstrated notable perseverance despite facing a significant elevation gain from 6303 feet to 14061 feet. The race started strong with a split time of 4:53 at Ruxton, highlighting an impressive initial pace of 11:23 min/mile. Over the testing segments from Barr Camp to the finish, Matt's split paces ranged between 25:16 and 32:41 min/mile, with the steepest segments above the treeline slowing progress. Concluding with an overall placement of 1134 out of 2049 participants and a division placement of 71 in the Male 25-29 category, Matt showcased determination and a commendable ability to tackle challenging altitude changes.
