Consistent Effort with Solid Elevation Management Hunter Fuentes admirably completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent in 5:03:25, maintaining an average pace of 22:42 min/mile. The ascent from 6,303 feet to 14,061 feet presented substantial challenges, yet Hunter's progression remained steady. Notably, at the "Ruxton" split, he achieved an impressive pace of 9:36 min/mile over the first 0.43 miles. As the elevation increased beyond the tree line, the pace naturally adjusted, especially in the final mile where it slowed to 41:56 min/mile. While the elevation gain posed its own challenges, maintaining a position within the top half of participants in the initial miles showed strategic pacing. Hunter's performance ranked him 93rd in his division (O40-44) among 2049 competitors. Maintaining a consistent pace between the "Barr Camp" and "A-Frame" checkpoints demonstrates effective energy distribution. Some fluctuations in later splits suggest potential areas for refining pacing strategy for even smoother elevation transitions in future events.
