Steady Progress on Tough Elevation Gain Bethany Heitland of Colorado Springs completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon with an elapsed time of 5:48:18. Her overall finishing position was 1363 out of 2049 participants, with a gender placement of 473 and a division placement of 56 in F25-29. Throughout the 13.36-mile course, she maintained an elapsed pace of 26:04 min/mile. Bethany showed a strong start, initially being placed 48th overall and 14th in her gender. Her pace remained commendable in the earlier stages, with a notable split time of 29:25 at Barr Camp, corresponding to a pace of 15:49 min/mile. Bethany faced challenges as the elevation increased, particularly from Bottomless Pit onwards, where her pace slowed significantly to 56:34 min/mile. There's potential for improvement in maintaining pace at high altitudes, especially in the final miles. Despite this, Bethany demonstrated perseverance in finishing the race.
