Steadfast Perseverance to the Summit Julia Gibbs completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon in 6:06:20, racing across the 13.36-mile course with an overall pace of 27:25 min/mile. Her performance positioned her at 1485 overall among 2049 participants and 532nd in her gender category. Impressively, Julia secured the 62nd spot in her F25-29 division. Notable splits include reaching Ruxton at a 10:12 pace and maintaining a sub-15 minute mile up to Hydro Street. The latter stages above the tree line presented a significant challenge, with the pace dropping to 41:36 in the final stretch. Splits such as a 54:43 mile at Bottomless Pit signify the demanding climb and altitude effects. Each increment in altitude required increasing adjustments in pace, notably the 22:14 at “2 Miles To Go”. Julia’s consistent effort and determination are commendable as she tackled the altitude and elevation gain of approximately 7848 feet.
