Dominant Performance in Age Division on Pikes Peak Ascent Marty Andrie delivered an impressive performance at the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent. Tackling a vertical climb from 6,303 to 14,061 feet over 13.36 miles, Marty clocked in at 2:30:54. Finishing first in the competitive M30-34 age division, Marty's overall and gender placements were both 9th out of 2049 participants, showcasing exemplary results in a deep field. The race started strong with a 5:58 per mile pace at Ruxton and a steady increase in elevation gain. Notably, Marty improved his relative position at key points, such as the challenging ascent to A-Frame, maintaining a consistent top 10 standing. Despite the slowdown in the final miles, common due to high altitude, Marty's pacing strategy allowed a strong finish, evidenced by a solid split at "0.5 Miles To Go." To investigate further progression, examining split paces in the final miles can potentially yield better conservation of energy and even pacing strategy adjustments.
