Consistent Pacing Amidst Altitude Challenges David Marx completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon in 4:00:14, covering a challenging distance of 13.36 miles. His overall pace was 17:58 min/mile. David navigated the race's altitude changes strategically, beginning at an elevation of approximately 6303 feet and finishing at over 14000 feet. His placement was 360 out of 2049 participants, with a division rank of 50 in the O35-39 category. Analyzing the splits, David showed steady progress even as the altitude increased significantly. His initial split at Ruxton with a pace of 8:08 was his fastest. However, as the elevation increased, notably past Hydro Street, the pace began to slow, culminating in an expected decrease during the final 0.5-mile segment with a 26:52 min/mile pace.
