Date: Sept. 3, 2026 Participant: Alistair Griffiths #6654 Race: 2026 Run The Wharf On Speed Zone

Explosive speed over a short segment Alistair covered 0.30 km in 1:28, averaging 4:58 min/km. He passed 43 runners in the On Speed Zone and finished 1227th of 5624 overall, placing 802nd among men and 228th in the M2630 division. This was a very short, high-speed effort within Run The Wharfs evening Canary Wharf format. The standout stat is the rate of movement through the field: 43 passes across just 0.30 km. For a segment like this, maintaining that pace while continuing to gain places is a strong sign of good acceleration. A useful next step would be to focus on holding that speed smoothly over a longer distance.
