Consistent Splits, Strong Finish Van Lu delivered a commendable performance at the 2026 Surf City 10 Miler, finishing with an overall time of 1:24:53 and an average pace of 8:29 min/mile. Representing the So Cal Pacers, he maintained consistent pacing throughout the race. Notably, Van's initial mile was completed at a quick 8:07 min/mile pace, placing him 28th in his division at that point. His performance peaked significantly towards the end with a strong final mile at 8:05 min/mile, his fastest split of the race, helping him secure a 32nd position in the M 45-49 division out of 33 participants in that group. His ability to push through and gain ground towards the race's conclusion is certainly something to celebrate. With conditioning and attention to maintaining steady paces, even more improvements can be made in future races. Overall, an excellent demonstration of racing strategy and tenacity.
