Consistent Pace with Notable Splits Michael Lu showcased a resilient performance at the 2026 Surf City 10 in Huntington Beach, California. Maintaining a steady pace for much of the race, Michael opened with an 11:53 min/mile which was consistent across the first few miles. Displaying strength, he improved notably in the third mile with the best split pace at 11:50 min/mile. Michael completed the 10-mile race in 2:34:37 with an average pace of 15:27 min/mile, placing 1742nd among males and 265th in the M 25-29 division. An agile runner from the start, his 5th mile saw a slower split time, which is an area to examine for pacing strategy in future runs. However, a standout was his exceptional 6th mile with a pace of 6:59 min/mile. The overall strategy evidently involved strong early miles followed by managing the energy for a strong finish, ending with the So Cal Pacers spirit. Great effort, Michael!
