Steady Pacing and Strong Finish in 10K Race Robert Sternberg delivered a commendable performance in the 2026 Surf City 10 10K race. Starting strong with a first-mile split of 12:52, he maintained a consistent pace throughout most of the race. Although the third mile was slightly slower at 21:04, he demonstrated resilience by significantly improving his pace in the fourth mile to 7:17, the fastest split of his race. This impressive mile propelled him forward, marking a strong point of his performance. Ending with an overall time of 1:23:06 and an average pace of 13:24 min/mile, Robert finished 16th in his division, M 65-69. Competing against 2,818 participants, including 819 males, Robert's efforts reflected determination and skill. As part of the Beach Cities Road Runners, his steady pace combined with a strategic surge is a testament to his capability on the course. Focusing on maintaining mid-race pace could yield even greater results next time.
