Consistent Effort with a Strong Finish Elizabeth Gomez from Lancaster, CA, showcased admirable pacing at the 2026 Surf City 10. Her performance exhibited both strength and consistency throughout the 10K course. With an overall time of 1:23:29 and an average pace of 13:28 min/mile, Gomez maintained a solid effort, especially during the initial miles. The first two splits were remarkably consistent, both clocking in at 12:46 min/mile. Gomez experienced a slower third split at 21:49, however, she displayed resilience and shaved significant time off in the final mile with a remarkable 8:55. Finishing strong, Elizabeth placed 48th in her division and 985th in gender against a field of 2818 participants. Her ability to pick up the pace in the latter part of the race is commendable.
