Consistent Effort Shines in Surf City 10K Meng Newman demonstrated commendable consistency during the 2026 Surf City 10K. Starting with an initial pace of 11:39 minutes per mile, she maintained a steady rhythm with slight variations. Meng's first three miles exhibited a gradual improvement, reducing her pace to 11:33 by the second mile and remaining competitive among her peers. Her best placement in the F 35-39 division was 85th in her third mile. As the race progressed, Meng faced slower splits, with her pace reaching 13:22 by the fourth and sixth mile. However, she remained resilient, finishing the race with an overall time of 1:19:25 and an elapsed pace of 12:48 min/mile. Meng placed 151st in her division and 885th in gender, in a field with 2,818 participants. Looking ahead, focusing on maintaining her solid early pace throughout could bolster future performance.
