Consistent Strides and a Strong Finish Luis Cruz Jr displayed a remarkable improvement as he progressed through the 2026 Surf City 10. Starting with an initial pace of 8:42 min/mile, he adeptly adjusted and finished strong with a closing mile of 7:28 min/mile. This demonstrates a fantastic ability to maintain and even increase pace over time an essential factor in successful racing. Throughout the race, Luis consistently improved his position, ultimately achieving the 33rd place in the competitive M 20-24 division. Representing Prime Run Club from Long Beach, his total time of 1:22:53 for the 10-mile course equated to an overall pace of 8:17 min/mile, placing him 442nd in gender and 585th overall out of 4,391 participants. Continuing to work on maintaining his early pacing consistency can further enhance his results. Great job, Luis!
