He maintained a steady pace, overall averaging 10:57 minutes per mile. His first mile was a solid 10:45 min/mile, showing a strong start. Although his pace slightly decreased to 11:50 min/mile in the second mile, he picked up speed again in the final stretch with a 10:22 min/mile pace. Kurtis showed impressive endurance, placing 5th in his division (M 65-69) out of the overall field of 2148 participants. In the final mile, his improved pace helped him secure strong positions in his division, emphasizing his ability to finish with determination.
