Consistent and Strategic Performance Amidst a Competitive Field Jacob Tan demonstrated a precise race strategy at the 2026 Surf City 10, maintaining consistent pacing throughout the 10-mile course. Starting with a strong 9:42 min/mile split in the first mile, Jacob reflected his ability to reserve energy early on. Although there was a gradual decrease in pace mid-race, ranging from 10:16 to 11:45 min/mile between miles 2 and 8, he managed to course-correct, closing with a final mile at 9:51 min/mile, one of his fastest segments of the race. He finished with an overall time of 1:47:04 and achieved a steady pace of 10:42 min/mile.
