Consistent Pace and Strong Finish Elreen Usher, representing Black Girls Run, completed the 2026 Surf City 10 in a time of 1:47:22 with an average pace of 17:19 min/mile. She demonstrated a consistent pace throughout the 10K distance, showing remarkable endurance. Notably, her final mile was her fastest at 16:41. Throughout the race, she improved her standing, particularly after the third mile where she maintained her split time within a minutes range. Elreen finished 33rd in the F 60-64 division with a commendable overall placement of 2261 out of 2818 participants. Her race strategy was evident in the gradual improvement of her division placement, moving up by three spots within the fourth mile. Keeping her pace consistent, especially between miles 4 and 6, provided her with a solid performance in her age group. Focusing on maintaining or slightly increasing her pace could bring further improvements in future races.
