Consistent Progress and Strong Finish Cindy Royster from Huntington Beach completed the 2026 Surf City 10 with impressive and consistent pacing. In her 5K race, her splits tell the story of a runner gaining momentum throughout the course. Starting with a 17:18 minute/mile pace for the first mile, Cindy improved her pace mile after mile, shaving off over two minutes by the third mile with a pace of 14:41. This showcases a strong finish, which contributed to her overall time of 50:19 and an overall per mile pace of 16:13. Cindys improvement in her placement throughout the race is noteworthy, moving up from 1366th overall at the first mile to 1171st by the second. Her consistent effort earned her 54th place in her age division, an achievement to be proud of. Representing her team, "No pain, No champagne," Cindy maintained focus and delivered a steady performance in a field of 2148 participants.
