Consistent Pace with Strong Division Finish In the 2026 Surf City 10, So Young Kim maintained a steady pace throughout the 10K race with an overall time of 1:17:00 and an average pace of 12:25 min/mile. Notably, she demonstrated consistency in her early splits, with each of the first four miles hovering around a pace between 12:01 and 12:14 min/mile. Her best mile was the first, clocking in at 12:01 min/mile. So Young finished strong, placing 69th in her division (F 45-49) out of a field of 2818 participants. While there was a slight dip in pace during the final mile, increasing to 13:12 min/mile, her overall performance remained commendable. She ranked 780th in her gender category.
