Consistent Performance Leads to Strong Division Finish Audra Schlegel from Rancho Mission Viejo put forth an impressive performance at the 2026 Surf City 10-miler, maintaining a steady pace with an overall time of 1:19:50 and an average pace of 7:59 min/mile. Throughout the race, Audra demonstrated remarkable consistency, starting with a speedy 7:48 min/mile and smoothly adjusting her pace as needed, finishing the final mile with her fastest split at 7:23 min/mile. Her strategic pacing allowed her to secure 7th place in her F 4549 division amidst a competitive field. Amongst a total of 4391 participants, Audra showed perseverance and skill, finishing 100th in her gender category. Notably, she improved her overall position with each mile, particularly in the last third of the race, showing a strong finish. As a member of the Sparkle Squad, Audra's disciplined splits from start to finish are worth celebrating. Future races could see further gains by focusing on maintaining the lower split paces up front.
