Consistent Pace and Strategic Progress Zay Porter displayed a masterclass in pacing during the 2026 Surf City 10. Starting strong with an 8:15 min/mile pace for the first mile, Zay maintained consistency in the second mile with another 8:15 min/mile, demonstrating excellent stamina and strategic racing. A faster third mile at 7:59 min/mile highlighted his ability to finish strong, contributing to an overall time of 25:16 and an impressive overall pace of 8:09 min/mile for the 5K. Zay showed strategic movement in the standings as well, climbing the ranksfrom 126th place overall after the first mile to 124th by the end. Notably, he improved his division position from 17th to 14th throughout the race. As a member of the "Keep Running" team, Zay's consistency and final surge are certainly commendable.
