Consistent Pace Leads to First in Division DJ Smith from Cypress, TX delivered an impressive performance in the 2026 Surf City 10-mile run. He maintained a consistent pace, completing the race in 52:38 with an average pace of 5:15 min/mile. Placing 11th overall among 4,391 participants and being the first in his M 30-34 division is a commendable achievement. Smith demonstrated strong pacing dynamics, starting with an initial mile of 5:14 and finishing the last mile at 5:02. Notably, his fastest split was a 5:02 in the final mile, showing an excellent ability to finish strong. Although there was a slight deceleration in the third mile, he quickly regained position.
