Strong Finish Despite Mid-Race Challenges Shenghua exhibited a strong performance at the 2026 Surf City 10, completing the event with a total time of 1:03:50 and maintaining an overall pace of 10:17 min/mile. Starting with a steady pace of 11:20 in the first mile, Shenghua progressed well, particularly in the second and fifth miles with split times of 10:17 and 7:35, respectively. Her overall place improved significantly as she moved through these miles, reflecting her solid strategy and endurance. Although there was a slower split in the third mile, Shenghua bounced back admirably, achieving her fastest split of 6:11 in the fourth mile. Shenghua finished 34th in her division (F 40-44) out of 112 participants, slicing through the field effectively to place 273rd out of 1524 in her gender category. Training focused on sustained pacing throughout all mileage could further enhance her performance in future races. Overall, this was an encouraging display of persistence and determination, particularly with her inspirational finish on behalf of Team Scrubs Squad.
